I · The Word

Miyabi.
Refined,
quietly.

In Heian Japan, miyabi named a particular kind of beauty — restrained, cultivated, attentive to the grain of small things.

We borrowed the word for a furniture house in MG Road. Not to imitate a distant aesthetic, but to keep faith with its intent: rooms that arrive slowly, and stay.

Each piece is composed for the long Indian afternoon — the second cup of tea, the unhurried conversation, the lamp left on for someone still arriving.

“The room that asks nothing of you is the room you return to.”

III · Hand

Made slowly,
by hand,
on purpose.

Solid Indian walnut and teak, finished with oil. Vegetable-tanned leather that softens with use. Hand-loomed linen from the south. Brass that patinas in your light, not ours.

IV · MG Road

A house rooted in
MG Road — and the people
who build with it.

The Miyabi studio: warm plaster walls and a walnut bench in sunlight

Miyabi works with a small circle of homeowners, architects and interior designers across the city. The studio in Mehrauli is a quiet room of finished pieces and unfinished conversations.
